José Miguel Mejía
His work lies on the border of the digital and natural domain. He focuses on investigating points of balance between these two elements through mixed disciplines. He investigates the relationship between art, technology, society and nature. Custom software coding and data analysis become an integral part of the compositional process. It adopts a multidisciplinary approach to explore reality. The representation is synthetic, distinguished by its hybrid aesthetic between organic and new technologies.

Artwork details:
Title: Islas para recordar
Description:
This exercise, offering a tangible representation of the idea of the border in the context of understandings of culture in motion, in doing so generates speculative hypotheses about the construction of memory.
It is therefore a journey to investigate the interplay of feelings of belonging and non-belonging, all as part of an attempt to emphasise the weightlessness and instability inherent in any memory or lack of memory.
The end result will seek to identify a movement towards temporality, as if a specific place, memory or thought could serve as a metaphor for existence itself.
Technique: 3D scan processed in Reality Capture, Blender, and VFX treatment in Touch Designer.
