RICARDO DE ARMAS
Sound artist and cellist, he studied in Argentina, Brazil and Spain. Graduated from the Conservatorio Provincial J Castro Provincial Conservatory. Since 1988 he has been a member of the Bahía Blanca Provincial Symphony Orchestra. He has been invited to festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Cuba.
His works have been performed in Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Greece, Hungary, England, Portugal, Sweden, USA and Venezuela. Honourable mention National Tribune of Electroacoustic Music 2005, Honourable Mention in the Leonor Hirsch Competition 2008, Honourable Hirsch Competition 2008, Honourable Selection at the Bourges International Competition 2009, finalist at the VII International `Electroacoustic Miniatures International Electroacoustic Miniatures Competition 2009, Honourable Mention at the Prix Ton Bruynèl 2010, Finalist in the competition of the Destellos Foundation competition in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. First Prize in the National Tribune of Electroacoustic Music 2012.
The Club Universitario de Bahía Blanca awarded him a special mention in recognition of his recognition of his contribution to the art and culture of the city.
Ricardo de Armas is a composer of electroacoustic music, a sound artist, and a cellist, who frequently interacts in his creative work with other musicians and interacts in his creative work with other means of aesthetic communication like performance, dance, musical drama, video, photography and interventions in public places.
Ricardo de Armas has been cellist in the Provincial Symphonic Orchestra of Bahía Blanca since 1988 until now, in parallel with his activity as composer and sound artist.
