Rubén Tortosa
Doctor in Fine Arts, he is a lecturer in the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Universitat Politècnica de València.

In 1987 he began to work with digital technologies and to make a firm commitment to their application in artistic creation, developing an intense artistic and research activity. A large part of his production deals with digital recording, printing and transfer processes. His work has been exhibited in national and international exhibitions in Spain, France, Brazil, USA, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Scotland, Mexico, Denmark, Italy.
He also teaches seminars and workshops in other faculties and institutions, understanding that the theoretical, teaching and dissemination activity is necessary to carry out a consistent work that legitimises the use of technology in artistic creation.

He is a co-founding member of the Artefactes group, researching on the interface and interactive installations, in which he has developed a part of artistic software and an interface / data glow, called GEST (Gestor Sistema Tutorial). The results of this research have been seen in exhibitions and international electronic art competitions: ArtFutura, Barcelona; Ciberart, Bilbao; Fournos Centre for the Digital Culture, Athens, Greece; Gran Canaria Espacio Digital, Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas; ESAD, Oporto, Portugal.
From his experience over the years and research on printing and transfer systems applied to artistic creation, he has collaborated in multidisciplinary research projects involving restorers, biologists, computer engineers, technicians and the HP department of R+D+I, EPSON and CANON.
